Our Mission
At Youth Defense Line (YDL), we are committed to empowering young individuals to overcome the challenges of poverty, unemployment, ignorance, and crime. Our mission is to provide youth with the tools, education, and vocational training they need to build brighter, more promising futures.
A key focus of our work is addressing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, where millions of young lives have been impacted by displacement and loss. Through our initiatives, we aim to deliver critical support and create pathways to opportunity for these vulnerable youth.

The Humanitarian Crisis in Sudan
A Nation in Crisis: Millions Displaced, Lives Shattered
The ongoing civil war in Sudan, which began on April 15, 2023, has devastated the nation and its people. The conflict has resulted in nearly 15,000 deaths and forced over 8.2 million individuals to flee their homes, creating a massive displacement crisis. Refugees have sought shelter in neighboring countries such as Chad, Ethiopia, and South Sudan, overwhelming already stretched resources and fueling concerns about migration toward Europe.
The humanitarian situation is dire, with over 25 million people in need of urgent assistance. Worsening food security has led to a severe hunger crisis, leaving countless families on the brink of starvation. Meanwhile, efforts to mediate peace have reached a standstill as the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces persist in their fighting, further destabilizing the region.
This unfolding crisis demands immediate action to provide relief, restore hope, and prevent further loss of life. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected.
